Week 88 Baer Penthouse Penthouse

Wednesday came along & we had to move out of the Leonard’s which was a sad day, but moving into the Baer’s Penthouse made it easier. We are so blessed to be living w/ them. Their son Travis has his mission call to Puerto Rico & leaves May 28th so he’s been doing comp study & other things w/ us to prepare & it’s been so much fun! Travis is a homie! He went thru the temple for the 1st time on Saturday & Friday he texted our Mission President to see if we can go w/ him & our President said yes so we got to go to the temple w/ him! It was such a cool experience. It was also the Stake temple night so I saw lots of familiar faces from people in the Rivers Edge Ward which was a blessing as well seeing them & catching up.

Easter Sunday was such a miracle of a day. We had a couple in our ward who invited their neighbors to church w/ them & their whole family came! The father of the family was actually raised FLDS. So we’re hoping to start teaching them.
A huge miracle was that the whole Wakkinen family came to church! So background on them we’ve been wanting to meet with them for the longest time but haven’t been able to. Andy Wakkinen is the father & he’s the only member. His wife is Teressa. He & his wife both had previous marriages. Together they have 6 kids. Well about 2 weeks ago, Teressa’s oldest son was killed in a car accident at the age 26. We had reached out to them to be of any help but they never really took us up but we’re always grateful. We called Saturday to invite them to church & they said they’d try & make it. Sunday the whole family came!! And we talked w/ them afterwards & you could see they were still pretty shooken up about things. We set up a time to go by Wednesday night to teach them...we’re hopeful we’ll be able to continue teaching them!!

We had the coolest miracle yesterday! Our boi Tom Bielecki! We were on our way to dinner & running pretty late so I was like we’re not gonna be able to talk to anyone on our way & just gotta get there otherwise we’ll be dummy late. Well we pass by this man on a bike and a woman walking next to him and just say hey and the man smiles & says hey back & I get chastised like you need to talk to this man. So we stop him & ask him how he finds hope & peace in his life, meanwhile the girl he was w/ just keeps walking & doesn’t look back once haha, anyways, Tom’s taken back by the question & after a while says he doesn’t know right now at this point in his life & isn’t sure how...so we testify of Christ & eternal families & ask to come by to teach him & his family sometime & he said sure! Which NEVER happens for us haha! People NEVER agree to having us over to teach! (Other times it’s happened was someone gave us a fake address & another was the person texted the next day to cancel after talking w/ her husband) So we set up the appointment & get the address & he says, “I just prayed to God the other day for the first time in a long time the other day for a sign or reason to start going to church again & I’d say this is a good start.” So I asked him when he prayed & he said it was just the day before on Easter!! God truly does answer prayers & we have the opportunity to be instruments in his hands in being answers for others & it’s an amazing experience when it happens. In conclusion, we got to our dinner & told them about Tom & they looked him up in the school directory & his address was legit so we’re already off to a great start! We’re pretty hopeful about Tom, he seemed like someone who was truly humble looking for further light & peace in his life.
Life is amazin what more can I say.
Much Love 🤟
