Week 49 I Ain’t No Pioneer

Happy Pioneer Day! We went hiking in the Snowy Mountains & do to poor navigating, we ended up hiking 7 miles in very rocky rugged terrain for 7 hours. It was during this time of reflection I realized that I wouldn’t have made a good pioneer & would’ve been one of the first fallen haha. Bless all the Saints who made that journey, it’s truly incredible!

This week wasn’t the most exciting. I went to court in FOCO & handled that. So long as I don’t get any misdemeanors in FOCO for the next year, I’ll prolly stay outta jail haha.
Elder Cerezo got his wisdom teeth pulled Friday so I got to take care of him :)
We still haven’t had a ton of success finding people to teach. Apparently 1/3 of Laramie’s population leaves in the summer. But at least all the trailer park kiddos love us! I swear we’re like heroes to them & it’s so sad cause they don’t have any father figures in their lives, breaks my heart. Oh & we got to see Kev-O! He’s back in town so we’re gonna try & start teaching him again!
I also played Kyle (full ride to UW) in basketball and it was ugly haha. He said if I beat him by 10 he’d come to church. I won 11-1 and the next day he didn’t come to church. I was pretty salty. Catch the live coverage of the game on ESPN Ocho.

I am grateful for this time I have to be here in Laramie even if we aren’t having as much success as I’d like to see. It’s teaching me to focus on the things I can control and leaving the things I can’t in the hands of the Lord. So I am grateful for that! Love y’all!

Week 48 I Am The GOAT.......whisperer

Wassup everyone! Sorry for the lame email again, we don’t have a very solid teaching pool at the moment. The week was going great, Elder Cerezo & I were out all day Saturday inviting everyone to come to church & had some great lessons! We had a lot of people commit to coming to church and so we were really pumped! Then Sunday came along and no one showed up haha. That’s just how it goes sometimes, we tryna stay positive tho! Our zone is killing it tho so we’re hype about that!!!

We taught a lesson to this woman & her granddaughter on Thursday and put them on Date for baptism! Then Sunday she texted and told us she didn’t want to be baptized or meet anymore. So needless to say, Sunday was a pretty brutal day for the 2 of us.

There’s a sister in our ward who’s a convert that we teach & we started teaching her mother & that’s going pretty well so we’re hopeful for her! Her name is Betty.

We taught a less active members grandkids who are 6 and the cutest kids! Their names are Madi & Hunter & they’re twins, we taught them how to pray & afterwards they started praying like crazy it was so adorable! Like they loved praying so much f just kept saying prayers over & over again with us, goodness I love kids they’re so precious!

Today we had to take some Elders to Fort Collins to go to the temple & we got to go too! So it was cool being back in FOCO for the day & going to the temple! We gotta go back tomorrow for my court date in FOCO for the fishing without a fishing license deal that happened last transfer so that should be fun! Then on Friday elder Cerezo is getting his wisdom teeth pulled so I’ll be taking care of him, should be a interesting week haha!

We got to do service (movin brickz again) for this woman in another ward and she has a ton of property. On her property she had a ton of goats and yo boi is the GOAT...whisperer. They was following me around and givin me kisses it was pretty funny haha.

Have an amazing week! Love & miss y’all! 🤟

Week 47 Movin Brickz

Truthfully it was a pretty slow week. We had a couple exchanges & so there was lots of ministering going on this week but it was well needed. We have exchanges again tomorrow and then Zone Conference on Thursday. The zone has been doing amazing tho! Almost all companionship’s have someone on date for baptism so that’s really exciting!
We didn’t teach very much cause we don’t really have any solid people were teaching & if we do they’re moving. It’s really sad but it’s an on-going joke that anyone we find to teach either goes to jail or moves haha. My first day here we went to contact 2 of our most promising people, we found out 1 just got put in jail & the other was evicted cause he’s most likely in jail.

We taught a lesson on Friday to a guy named PJ and committed him to come to church, he came on Sunday and said it was his 1st time coming to church in about 15 years! It was cool cause the talks seemed like they were meant just for PJ. He’s supposed to be moving to Ohio this week or next. His roommate claims he had a full ride to UW & challenged me in basketball 1 on 1 and said if I beat him he’d come to church, we hit him up Saturday and he never got back to us...we gon keep tryin to set it up to get him to church!

We did some service on the 4th & helped move some bricks up where they hold girls camp out here, the member we helped took us out the eat & that was really nice. Then Sunday we helped a non member move some bricks & he took us out for a ride in his sweet ‘71 Chevelle w/ the top down. Felt so free it was great. So we moved a lot of bricks but that’s not the business to be in if you slingin. Sling kickz not brickz.

Sorry for the lame email, love y’all 🤟❤

Week 45/46 Breakin the WY Border

Well I guess when over half of your mission is Wyoming it’s kinda inevitable that you’ll serve there eventually & now is my time. So I got transferred last week to Laramie, WY and I’m w/ Elder Cerezo who was born in the Philippines & moved to the states at 9. He’s from San Diego, a convert to the church, and an incredibly loving missionary & I'm so grateful to be serving with him!

Sorry bout no email last week, it was a crazy day. We hiked Horsetooth and left behind a flag at the top. Also Mike, (Deb’s husband) gave us a tour of CSU’s new stadium and it was dope! Pretty cool that we got to see the new CSU stadium & didn’t have to break in *bang bang shots fired* ðŸ˜‰
Along with saying goodbyes it was pretty crazy & I ran out of time to email.

The last week in FOCO was pretty eventful. We said goodbye to the missionaries going home which included Elder Litster who trained me, that was weird.
We taught a man named Fate who had already come to church twice, taught him the 1st lesson & he was golden & we put him on date to be baptized 2 weeks later. I’ve since learned Fate fell off the face of the earth & they have no contact w/ him.
We went out to fish w/ Conrad & teach a lesson. About 30 minutes in a ranger rolls up on us and gave us tickets for fishing without a fishing license haha. He only had 2 tickets on him so myself & Elder Miceli got them, that ended our day w/ Conrad pretty quick :(

Now onto the Laramie life. This place is wild haha. The people here are amazing! It’s literally like a whole nother world here. The people are so humble & nice. I’ve had some of the craziest lessons of my whole mission so far easily and it’s just hilarious! In one lesson I heard more “f bombs” than I have in honestly the past year haha. Shout out to Kyle from Bako. Then there’s this other homie Kevin, or Kev-O, who is hilarious. He reminds me of a black Austin Stout, this fool is all over the place & wild. We taught him the Restoration & Elder Cerezo invited him to be baptized and he immediately closes the Book of Mormon all dramatic, looks at Elder Cerezo, and says “You prolly gon be the one to baptize me...or the both of y’all can” Haha it was so sweet! Too bad he’s moving to Colorado Springs tomorrow so we’re going to have to pass him off. Anyway, I’m loving it and looking forward to the funny stories Laramie will bring! The new addy is posted below if you feel like hookin a brotha up. Love y’all! 🤟
