We saw a really cool
miracle this week!! We received a text a couple weeks ago from a woman named
Rebecca who said she wanted to meet with us and felt like she could really use
it (Elder Cerezo & his old comp tracted into her). Well we went to teach
her on Friday and she started opening up to us about how she wanted to come
closer to God & how she was already working on quitting smoking &
coffee cause she wanted to live a healthier life!! We taught her the
Restoration and talked w/ her about baptism. She said it was something she
wanted to do but wanted to do it on her birthday cause of special meaning
behind it. So we set a baptismal date w/ her for her birthday on December 11th!
It’s good tho cause she’s currently living w/ her boyfriend who’s a less active
member so it gives time to clear that up. She actually was talking w/ us and
saying how she was already talking w/ him about getting married cause that’s
something she wants! The boyfriend although not active is 100% supportive &
even told Rebecca he’d drive her to see Temple Square if this is something she
wants to do. After the lesson we gave Rebecca a blessing to overcame her
addiction to smoking. We came back the next day & she told us she was
receiving some negativity from her sister about taking the lessons by Mormons
and she told us she didn’t care. It’s the first religion she’s ever been drawn
to that makes her happy so she’s gonna stick with it! Rebecca is awesome and
such a miracle! She also told us that the priesthood blessing was really weird
but it worked haha! She said it was just weird how we put our hands on her head
and all that but she said that her cravings don’t last very long and it hasn’t
been very hard! We visited her yesterday and she’s still clean from smoking!
We’re also teaching a
returning member named Christy who was baptized a couple years ago but hasn’t
been to the temple. She texted us this week and said she’s ready to get her
crap together so she can go to the temple. She’s got Word of Wisdom problems
she struggles with but we’re working with her on that!
We went on exchanges
w/ the AP’s on Thursday & I was w/ Elder Judd. This made me realize how
much I miss Colorado, especially Loveland haha. We did a TON of weeding for a
member, it was crazy, I’ll attach pics. The member had 7 Boston terriers that
were so cute and kept running around us while we were weeding it was fun. But
the really big miracle was after that service I found a frog that we decided we
were gonna put inside the Loveland ZL’s apartment. So we went to do that &
there were a couple people in the same apartment complex as the ZL’s Elder Judd
wanted to contact since we were there. We contacted a guy named Jessie who was
like “Oh did y’all wanna talk for a little? Lemme get my shoes on” So we went
& taught him the Restoration & he was so prepared you wouldn’t believe
haha! It was probably one of the easiest Restoration lessons I’ve ever taught,
he was finishing things we’d say, fully comprehended everything, and we set a
date for him to be baptized in August. We both walked away kinda laughing just
as what happened, we didn’t even have a lesson scheduled w/ Jessie that day but
the Lord pointed us in the direction to him cause of how prepared he was!
We went and hiked
Vedauwoo today and then went and saw the Lincoln Memorial out here. It was
pretty dope!
We have transfers this
next week, chances are I’ll most likely stay & Elder Cerezo will leave
cause he’s been here for 3 transfers. Thanks for all the love & support!
