Week 97 🐊>πŸ…

What an incredible week! I went on exchanges w/ my boi Elder Gillette, we go back to Day 1. We were able to teach Sabrina, the lady we did service for a couple weeks ago who invited us back. She has 3 little kids ages 2, 5, & 9. We went yesterday & taught her & then did some more painting for her afterwards. She was so humble & is sincerely seeking for what’s best for her & her family. We had a member of our ward (Sister Van Tassell) who’s good friends w/ her at the lesson along with us & she did such an amazing job bearing testimony out of love. We’re going back tomorrow to teach her again! I have so much love for her & her family & am so excited for them!

We also got to teach Ben & Sulan both over the weekend which was a blessing cause it’s been so long since we’ve been able to meet with either of them. We had a recently returned missionary come along w/ us to Sulan’s lesson who served in Taiwan & knows Mandarin & she did an amazing job teaching! We kinda sat back a lot while they just went back & forth & every so often she would pause & explain things to us haha. But Sulan’s faith is growing!!

A huge miracle was that the Wakkinen family all came to church on Sunday! They hadn’t been since Easter & have been struggling a lot recently. They reached out to us on Friday asking for help & we were able to get a member they really trust over to their place to help them out & then they came as a family to church on Sunday!!

We went golfing today w/ President Joe Goodell & that was so much fun! He gave me tons of pointers on my swing & then we did some putting & yoboi put in work! #BestPutterInTheGame #PuttGameStrong #5-0 #Undefeated #StillHumbleTho😀
We also did more painting out at the ranch. Shocker. The owner of the ranch called me Deacon Bennett which was new haha.
Next week we’ll have a new mission president, President Palmer. We’ll meet him Tuesday.
I feel so blessed. I’m just lovin life.
Peace & Love,

Week 96 Flag Day 2K19 πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

lag Day has come again & what a glorious day it was. As always, Flag Day was filled with many miracles. One of which was that we started teaching the Reiche’s (Pronounced Rich’s) who is a young couple in our ward who has a little boy named Carver. They never were very active growing up but their little boy has made them want to be an eternal family! So we’ve started meeting w/ them to teach them the lessons & help them w/ reaching that goal. They’re such an incredible family & the ward is doing an incredible job ministering to them. We’re excited to keep teaching them & watching them grow!

We had our service project of painting that barn on Wednesday & it was a ton of fun & also very meaningful to the family we did it for. The family’s name is the Bruce’s, they’re Catholic, & the mom, Lisa, her father has been in the hospital a lot lately. They were so grateful for our service & they texted us letting us know that her father passed away Friday. A very sad time for them but we are hopeful that it could lead to a teaching opportunity. Feels good being able to serve others especially at a critical time in their lives.
Also, not sure if I mentioned this last time but one of the lady’s we painted for named Sabrina, she invited us to come back on this upcoming Monday to be able to teach her so we’re excited for that! Service softens hearts!

We taught a woman named Kim who was a friend of Aubrey Leonard’ from high school who seemed super golden...until she went home talked to her parents & they freaked on her & showed her lots of anti & she told us she didn’t want to meet anymore. Ohhh good ol FOCO, classic. But it was such a powerful lesson we had w/ her & she felt the Spirit, we all did, & some day she’ll remember that & search for it so we ain’t sweatin πŸ˜€

Lastly, we had Zone Conference yesterday & President & Sister McMurray are officially on their farewell tour. This is their last set of Zone Conferences. They left us w/ their final testimonies & what a tender moment that was. I can’t put into words the impact they’ve had on me nor the gratitude I have for them other than I feel like I have another set of parents that love me.
I love Jesus & know he has an infinite love for us all. He lives. Peace & Love y’all 🀟

Week 95 Mosiah 2:17 X Karate Kid

Yuhhhhh so another great week out here in FOCO. I love life. We did lots of service this week & serving others brings so much joy into my soul. We had a lot of fun projects to tackle for some people this last week which I will explain.

We had a couple of non members who reached out to us about service from some missionaries who made a post on the NextDoor app. So the first was a woman named Sabrina who is married & has 3 yung kiddos & she knows some great members in our ward. She needed help painting her daughters room. So we spent a great deal of the day painting this room with some members from our ward & some of the youth. While painting she asked us many questions & told us about her background, we had some great discussions with her & she invited us to come back to be able to teach her more about Christ Restored Church! I love how much service can soften hearts & the opportunities it provides to help others come closer to Christ.

Another was a lady named Karen who is older & her husband is disabled. She’s had many back surgeries & it’s tough for her to get around. She had a wheelchair ramp in her backyard which she needed painted & staining. So we got to do some more painting...w/ the amount of hours I’ve put in painting on my mission I’d say it’s fair to say I qualify as a professional painter. But this was another great opportunity cause Karen bought us lunch & while over lunch Elder Hansen asked her many questions about her religious background & she opened up to us! I invited her a few times to come to church w/ us & that she would love it which she ever so sneakily dodged numerous times. But we will be going back to finish the job Thursday & sounds like she has more projects for us after that, so we will have many opportunities to continue teaching her while we serve her.

And there’s tomorrow. We will be doing a service project out at the ranch scraping & painting an old stall for holding horses. More painting...I feel like the Karate Kid out here with all this painting but I love it! Service softens hearts & invites the Spirit into our lives. If you’re struggling w/ your testimony, receiving an answer to a prayer, or anything really...go out & serve. You will not regret it. It brings joy.

People we’re teaching are doing well. We had the Loveland Stake Conference this last weekend & it was prolly the best one of my mission. Elder Perkins of the Seventy visited & was such a great man to listen to! Also P Crane threw it down!! I was feelin the Spirit strong & am grateful for inspired leaders which we have today. There truly is Peace In Christ but we gotta do something on our part to invite him into our lives, but as we do, he embraces us with His Arms of Mercy.
Exciting things happenin. I’m just lovin life. Peace & Love 🀟

Week 94 We Dem Boyz

Pretty sure I’ve already used this title before but that’s how I’m feelin this week haha.
I’m just livin life & I love it. My new companion is Elder Jack Hansen from Moraga in the Bay Area of Cali close by Walnut Creek. He’s such a stud. He’s been out 9 months & is such a fun companion to have. We always goonin & havin a good time, I’m excited for this Transfer & hopefully anotha one after.

This week has been pretty hectic w/ having to move places & getting settled. We moved out of the Baer’s and in w/ the Ward family last week. They’re the funnest family ever! They have 2 boys both ages 13 who finished school on Thursday and they’re our best friends haha. We did baptisms in the temple with them today and then had a huge water balloon fight with them. It was so much fun haha I love Dem Boyz!

We played some more basketball with Ben this last week & are planning to teach him this week. We’re also supposed to teach Tom & hopefully his wife Jenny too tonight! We also found a new person that we’re hoping to start teaching named Alenah. She was really humble and nice to us, we’re supposed to go teach her tomorrow. We’re also hoping to go teach Sulan this week as well, so we should have lots more opportunities to teach this week!

Tomorrow I’ll have my last interview with President McMurray as he prepares to leave July 1st. It was nice being in the temple with him today, I sure love that man. What an incredible example & role model he’s been for me.
That’s about all I got, lots to look forward to this week!! I ❤️ Jesus.

Week 93 Chuck N Gator

This has prolly been one of the wildest weeks of my mission. I don’t know how many times I’ve started an email that way but this week was exceptionally wild haha.
There was a huge MLC meeting on Friday and we had Brother Littlefield who works for the Church in the mission department visiting our mission. It was a huge reunion of seeing all the mission homiez and we got incredible training!! He focused a lot on working with the members and he said that, “The majority of the elect are the friends and families of the members.” And correlated it to if we want to get to those people and start teaching them, we have to work with the members. Got me hype.

Elder Treanor had to come down Thursday night for the sealing of someone he taught in Casper and so he stayed with us for a couple nights. We went to the meeting together and afterwards taught some lessons together. It was a good throwback to the Rivers Edge dayz & being comps w/ Chuck again.

It was my last week w/ Elder Mugleston and we had a blast together! We had to drop him off to go to the airport Monday early morning. So I was gonna be with Elder Dudley & Elder Plumb & getting a new comp Wednesday. We said our goodbyes and he was off...OR SO WE THOUGHT. We were at a BBQ around 6pm and Elder Mugleston tells us that his flight got delayed & delayed and then they got a new flight for Wednesday evening so that he was gonna be coming back. So to make a long story short, we picked up Elder Mugleston last night, it was a late night, and it was prolly the longest day of his life haha.
During that time while I was with the other Elders and Elder Mugleston was at the airport, I helped James Richey & his family move...for the 2nd time on my mission. Pretty wild that I have now helped the same family move twice at the same time of the year while in the span of my mission haha.

We had a birthday dinner for one of the youth in our ward. His mom said all he wanted for his birthday was the Elders & Raising Cane’s haha. They’re so much fun! So we had dinner with them on Saturday & had some Cane’s & KK for dessert. Then found out Sunday morning that we were going to be living with them for the next transfer!! We’re so hype they’re such a fun family!!

We got transfer info and I’m staying and getting Elder Jack Hansen. I know nothing about him but we’ll meet tomorrow & I'm excited! I’m really excited to be staying here in FOCO in these 2 wards. Also Elder Gillette is staying in the district & Elder Thacker is coming to Loveland to be my ZL. I feel so blessed. Life is amazin. Things are goin great w/ those we’re teaching. I πŸ’œ Jesus.
