WEEK 45 Transfered to new area. Zone Leader

I got this email from Elder Bennett and he did not have much time to write this week because he was being transferred to a new area. This is all I got from his this week to share with you.

I got transferred and am going to be a ZL in Laramie, WY. I’m breaking the border and going to Wyoming so should be interesting after almost living in Colorado for a year haha. My comp is Elder Cerezo, he’s a little Philippino guy and was Elder Treanor’s trainer. He’s a great missionary. Here’s my new address

Week 44 Conraddd...Issss Raddddd

Gonna be super quick but it was an amazing week! We taught this new investigator yesterday named Conrad & he’s so awesome & prepared!!! He was a referral from Heaven...like we have no idea where he came from. He’s like 26 or so, married, served in the military, & while he was in the military he read the whole Book of Mormon!! He grew up Pentecostal & said he was told Mormons were terrible & a cult but he came to know so many amazing people that were Mormons that totally changed his mind! We taught him the first lesson and he was smiling agreeing with everything saying he believes in prophets & modern day revelation. Truthfully I feel like he has to be a member just messing with us cause of how prepared he is haha. He said he’d love to take us out fishing so next p day we’re gonna try and go fishing with him! Conrad...such a dope miracle.

Also there were plenty of Flag Day miracles! We were on exchanges that day w/ Elder Gordon and had a lot of teaching appointments. We taught my one of my best friends from home Tyler, who I sent a Book of Mormon to in my first transfer in Windsor, through Facebook messenger. Such a blessing having this technology. We made it a goal to tell everyone Happy Flag Day & everyone was just like so confused it was hilarious! Flag Dayyyy!

We have transfers next week so we’ll see what happens, we really hope we all stay together! The work is picking up a ton and we see a lot of baptisms in the near future in FOCO!!

I got a new niece yesterday! Congrats to my bro & sis, Logan & Janaye for their beautiful baby girl Rosie!

Week 43 Flag Day Wuz Gucci

Thursday the 14th is Flag Day and historically speaking one of the greatest days for proselyting for missionaries. The miracles of Flag Day are real. So we hype! Everyone make sure to fly your flags with pride this Flag Day πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

We had dinner with Adrian on Sunday and he invited his brother James to come over and listen to us. We were so hype! We were thinking we gon start teaching them both and it’s gonna be dope, then we showed up and started talking with James and we were wrong haha. We kinda just ended up bashing with him and we’re going back and forth. But this was such a miracle! Cause in the middle of it all Adrian stops James and basically tells him I didn’t invite you over to argue, I invited you over to listen to these guys cause that’s what I’ve been doing and it’s making me happy. Reading the Book of Mormon makes me happy. Adrian started bearing testimony to his brother James right in front of us!! It was such a cool experience! He was bearing testimony of the Book of Mormon and the spirit and I was so hype to see that!! I love Adrian he’s so awesome! He always offers to feed us and cooks bomb food! We’re meeting with him tonight and plan to put him back on date for baptism. Then we just gotta get him to start coming to church with us.

We taught Hayden Anderson, she’s almost 9 and comes from a less active part member family and she is super excited to be baptized! We’ve been teaching her for a couple weeks now and she always loves when we come over! It always so fun teachings children, they’re so sweet and innocent and you have to teach simply. I love it! Anyway, she lives with her mom and is going to visit her dad and family a lot this summer so we set a baptismal date for her for August 11th! Super exciting, just kinda sad cause I probably won’t be here for it.

Things are great over here in FOCO. We had District p day today and hiked Horsetooth...I love this hike so much haha. Enjoy the pics, have an amazing week, and fly your flags with pride this Flag Day. Love y’all 🀟

Week 42 60% Of The Time...It Works Everytime

We helped someone who’s car broke down in the left turn lane last week and it was such a cool miracle! We helped him push it into a neighborhood nearby and were able to  talk with him afterwards, then on our way back to our car we were able to talk with another person. We were able to get both there contact info and they were pretty interested. Anyways, just wanted to share that when we serve our fellow brothers and sisters, the Lord blesses us!

We talked with Deb’s neighbor/fellowshippers, the Jeffery’s, and they said that they talked with Deb and Mike was upset about her decision to be baptized and so she decided to take a step back with things and let things cool down before continuing. She said she wouldn’t let him make her decision for her, she’s just letting things cool down. So we’re just letting things be right now and will reach out to her this week to see if we could possibly read with Deb.
We did see them Thursday night tho. We helped out the Jeffery’s with setting up and taking down for a dance recital and their granddaughter Nevaeh was dancing in it so we saw them there and went to eat with them after, it was really fun, Mike was telling us a bunch of stories. Hope that his heart softening up.

We hadn’t heard anything from Adrian in almost 2 weeks and we were about to drop him and Sunday night we stopped by and his door was open and he let us in for cake and juice. We were able to meet his girlfriend Ruby and talk with her about the Book of Mormon, then they invited us to come back the next day for dinner and a lesson! It was such a miracle!
Monday we were on exchanges and I was with Elder Fronk who’s a Spanish speaking elder and we went and taught Adrian and Ruby and his Spanish came in clutch! Sometimes I would ask a question and Ruby wouldn’t fully understand so he would step in and ask in Spanish haha it was a funny but awesome lesson! They invited us to come back Thursday for dinner and a lesson again so we’re hype for that!

We helped out with a Family Fun Run on Saturday morning and it was a ton of fun cheering on all the people competing in it and we had such a blast! We had a ton of parents coming up and thanking us so I think we did a good job representing the church in FOCO. Also we were on this corner with a community service officer named Joey and she was so dope! We talked a lot with her and she said her and her husband would be interested in meeting with us! Blessings come from service!!!

Y’all stay classy. Love y’all 🀟

Week 41 Fast Pass to Goliath

If y’all know Goliath at Six Flags, you just be trekkin up forever, and you just climbin, and you peak, then you take a fatty drop and go from supah high to a quick low real quick.
Well I’d say this has been the biggest rollercoaster week of my mission yet. Straight highs and lows haha, lemme break it down for ya.

Monday we went and read with Deb & Mike and invited Deb to be baptized, she said she’s been thinking about it. Thursday we go back over to read with her. She tells us she’s thought a lot about baptism and feels like she’d be ready in 4-6 months. So we opened up to Mosiah 18 in the Book of Mormon with her and read. We told her that she was ready for baptism already and talked more about repentance. We shared some really good scriptures about repentance with her, Alma 5:33, and told her that when she repents, her sins are forgiven and forgotten. She said it was exactly what she need to hear and she felt ready to be baptized! We set a date for June 24th. We talked with Deb about bringing her 9 year old granddaughter Nevaeh to our lesson on Saturday so we could start teaching her as well and she loved it cause she already goes to church all the time with her friend!
Saturday we went over and helped Mike & Deb as well as their neighbors/fellowshipper, the Jeffery’s, with yard work for a couple hours, then had lunch together and came back later for a lesson. We came back and Deb & Nevaeh came over to the Jeffery’s for the lesson. We taught the Restoration and Deb was testifying of it to Nevaeh...then we taught the Word of Wisdom, and Deb started testifying of that to Nevaeh too! Deb committed to stop smoking and drinking coffee and live the Word of Wisdom that moment. Nevaeh also committed to be baptized on June 24th same day as her grandmother!
Now this is probably when I was the most hype I have been my whole mission. Seriously one of the highs. Watching Deb testifying to her granddaughter was amazing and then for her to commit to love the Word of Wisdom! Just couldn’t ask for more!
Sunday morning we get a text from Deb saying that her & Mike talked for hours last night and that she wasn’t ready to commit to a church as well as Nevaeh. She was going to come to church today but afterwards wouldn’t come anymore and didn’t want to meet but she would continue to read the Book of Mormon.
Now after reading this text I was the lowest I have ever been on my mission and truthfully in a long time. So in a matter of 24 hours high to low. The mission be out here playing with emotions like it’s nobody’s business. Anyways, we were all pretty distraught after reading the text and so we hit our knees, and we prayed for a miracle that day(hoping a miracle for Deb)

So Church was amazing! We had a referral we contacted the day before who came to church, as well as this soon to be 9 year old were teaching w/ her less active mom, AND right when we walked into the chapel, there’s this younger guy in shorts and a t shirt sitting in the back. So we go up and introduce ourselves and check this MIRACLE! His name is Connor, he’s 23, he moved out here from Virginia, said he hasn’t been to a church since he was 6 and he lives across the street from ours and has been driving by our church and felt like he just needed to come in. He’s been going through a super rough time, knows no one really, just had a break up and lost his job, and said the people he lives with aren’t good people. So we grabbed him and introduced him to people and had him sit with us. He left after sacrament and we walked him out and he kept thanking us cause he felt so welcomed and loved and said he’d be coming back next week. We got his info and are going to try and teach him this week! Such a sweet miracle! Heavenly Father answers our prayers!! Deb & Nevaeh also came, we talked with them after and it was really sad. Deb said she loved church and started crying as she said she was struggling with having to leave this. We told her she didn’t have to and she just kinda continues crying saying she was struggling. We don’t know what happened but have a good idea. So please pray for Deb and remember her in your fast this week.

We saw tons of miracles this last week, so many more I can’t include or I’d have to start goin into MLA format and make this thing an essay haha! Christ church has been restored in its fullness to the earth today! The Book of Mormon is TRUE! Don’t believe me? Read it & ask God. He’ll tell you wassup. Love y’all 🀟

Week 40 The Longest Week Yet

This week has been crazy but incredible! Pretty sure I ain’t slept in like the past 2 weeks haha yo boi is dead.

So on the day of transfers last week Elder Halladay my boiii & I we’re comps for the day while we waited for our comps. When Elder Kellogg & Elder Miceli got in we dipped back to FOCO and got goin. That night we had to get bunk beds from Sisters for the other Sisters and go set those up for them, anyways that was a long day but lots of fun!

Yo boi got to play volleyball with the YSA & our investigator Peter on Thursday night and that was so much fun!

We went & taught Mike & Deb on Saturday the gospel of Jesus Christ. We read 2 Nephi 31 with them and Deb said The Book of Mormon brings her the most peace and comfort than any book ever has. We invited them to come to church and Mike said he’d think about it. Deb looked at him and said “Well I’m gonna go” It was so sweet!
On Sunday Deb was at church w/ her 3 grandkids! It was so awesome to see! She said she loved how open and straight up everything was, no secrets. She really enjoyed the relief society too! We went & read the Book of Mormon with them Monday and invited Deb to be baptized & she said it’s something she’s really been thinking about a lot lately and just wants to know if this is the right fit for her. In her prayer she asked God if this was the right fit for her.

On Sunday there was a cool miracle, we went to Ward Council before church and while in there I was reviewing the lesson we were going to be teaching in gospel principles later and I came across a line talking about eternal families that I felt one of our investigators could really use. His name is Adrian, he’s a younger man with a young family, extremely humble and we hadn’t had any contact in about the last 2 weeks with him. So I texted him saying we were going to be talking about something in church today that I think you really need to hear along with the address & time. Well church came around and I honestly had forgotten and we were greeting people and we saw that Deb had come with her grandkids and were excited about that & we sat with them. After the sacrament the first speaker got up and was up about 5 minutes or so when someone in the pew behind us said, “Hey I think there’s an investigator in the back” Sure enough it was Adrian and his son! It was such a cool miracle! He stayed and came to gospel principles with us, his son was being crazy so he left early. We went over after church to read w/ him and he said he woke up that morning and was planning on going to church and had the feeling he needed to and when he saw the text he knew he had to. So cool to see the Spirit working through both of us! We read with him, invited him to be baptized, and he said yes! It was such a cool miracle to see. He’s on Date for June 9th and we’ve been reading with him almost daily since.

Monday we had MLC training from Elder Anderson of the seventy in Cheyenne. So for the first time in my life, I was in Wyoming haha. That was cool, especially cause all the Colorado ZL’s squaded up in our mini van and we whipped it over there.
Tuesday was our Mission Tour and that was pretty sweet! Got some amazing insight and hype for the trainings I’ve received that will help me be better.

Things been crazy but I’m loving FOCO & both my new comps! Love y’all 🀟
